Sharp cast, well done acting. It appears to have an open ended plot. Lots of exciting things will happen in the coming episodes. I think the stories will be all about the army protecting itself from being an army. looking forward to many more instalments.
Absolutely love this show. It’s so unique, wonderful acting and chemistry and amazing cinematography. It’s very rare to actually like all the characters in a show but this one has done just that. And I love that a lesbian is the main character and her love with another queer character are front and center. An one final note, what I live even more about this show is that out of all 10 episodes 8 of them were directed by women, that is truly an accomplishment. Hope it gets many more seasons.
this show is great escapism. It’s not a reality show – It’s alternative history/fiction. One reviewer noted only one character was well-defined and the two other main characters remained a mystery so only have it one star. If this were a movie, I’d agree that there isn’t enough character development. But trashed something original simply because not everything was explained in the first few minutes is ridiculous. it is a series, meaning more than one episode, I am willing to assume the other characters will be flushed out in subsequent episodes.
The instant gratification culture will be sad because they’re not told everything about everyone and ever situation in the first 5 mins. So serials shows may not be the best thing to watch if you have the attention span of a goldfish. Maybe try tick-tock videos – they get to the point quick.
This show isn’t for everyone however. It’s a niche show about an alternate history where witches are recognized and used in the military as weapons. Know that going on and don’t expect a serial to explain everything in the first episode. and
For me it’s a very slick production that’s well acted with an original twist on the supernatural and I’m willing to give it a few more episodes to explain more about the characters and the environment they exist in. If it fails in this task and turns into something too cliche or much like a teen soap opera, then I’ll revise this review. But for a pilot episode? wow is this done well! If you’ve seen pilot shows from the 80’s or 90’s you’ll know what I mean.
